Amanda Turk is the Director of Publicity for the 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals. Now in her sixth season with the Club, she handles the public relations for the business-side of the organization. This includes writing and distributing press releases and award nominations, handling media inquiries from television, radio, and print distributors, selecting and scheduling the Buck O’Neil Legacy and military tribute seats, and planning and executing the Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids in Kansas City and Surprise, AZ. During the offseason, in addition to her other duties, she also manages all of the player procurement and scheduling for the annual Royals FanFest in January.
Originally from Orrville, Ohio, she received her undergraduate degree from Ashland University in Sport Communication and Business Administration. Immediately following college, she worked as a television sports producer and on-air talent for SportsTime Ohio in Cleveland for three years before moving to Kansas City to take an internship with the Royals. She received her Master’s Degree in Communication with an emphasis on Rhetoric from the University of Kansas last May.
