Inaugural Volley Llama Recap

Noah’s Bandage Project was lucky enough to be part of the inaugural Volley Llama event, in partnership with those at Charlie Hustle, Chicken N Pickle, Boulevard Beverage Company and Community America. Generous people from all of those organizations along with our own Board President Paul Long put the event together in an attempt to make a large impact for the Kansas City community, and they saw NBP fit to be their sole benefactor.

The event was held at Chicken N Pickle on July 11. More than 30 local celebrities from the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, and other big names in town acted as co-captains paired along side 24 of our brave cancer warriors. Guests included Alex Gordon, Dustin Colquitt, and Matt Besler. Each co-captain pair was placed with a pickle ball team through sponsors. It was incredible night celebrating and honoring our warriors, while raising over $100,000 for NBP, which will of course support targeted pediatric cancer research at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Guests were treated to specialty drinks provided by Restless Spirits, beer and canned cocktails from Boulevard Beverage Company, cold brew from Messenger Coffee, snow cones from Kona Ice, and many more treats and activities from local vendors, including The Photo Bus and Donoutology. Charlie Hustle even sold limited edition Volley Llama KC themed shirt, with the classic KC heart.

This event would not have been possible without the phenomenal support of all the wonderful sponsors and celebrity guests who joined in to help us help kids fighting cancer. Thank you to everyone who was part of this first event, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
