2017 Strikeout Childhood Cancer Recap
Strikeout Childhood Cancer!!
At the beginning of the 2017 season, Danny Duffy and his wife Sara made a pledge. They pledged to give Noah’s Bandage Project $500 for every strikeout that Danny threw for the entire 2017 season. Childhood cancer is something that the Duffy’s take personal. Their friendship with Noah directly, and their heart to help all kids like him who are facing the diagnosis that none of them deserve, led them to start the Strikeout Childhood Cancer campaign.
To help make the impact event bigger, they challenged the community to partner with them in their pledge…and over 100 people did! With pledges ranging from $0.25 a strikeout up to $15 a strikeout, the community rallied behind the Duffy’s and helped make a huge impact. All combined, Danny threw 130 K’s during the 2017 season, leading to his personal donation of $65,000. Add on what the community pledged, and the total campaign raised $93,760!!
What an awesome way to Strikeout Childhood Cancer!
